About
My Story
Southern California to Johns Hopkins and Columbia. A career built on restoring function for shoulder and knee patients.

My journey began in Southern California, where I grew up in the Los Angeles area. Sports were a major part of my life, and the discipline, teamwork, and competitive spirit I learned through athletics continue to shape how I practice medicine today. I attended UCLA, earning a degree in Psychobiology before beginning my medical training.
I began my medical education at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where I was fortunate to develop a close relationship with Dr. Ben Carson. He became an important mentor and influence on my professional development. I had the opportunity to work closely with him, including in his research laboratory. His example reinforced the importance of preparation, humility, and striving for excellence. Although I was fascinated by neurosurgery, I ultimately realized that orthopedic surgery combined everything I loved: solving complex problems, restoring function, and helping patients return to the activities they enjoy.
I completed my orthopedic surgery residency at Columbia University, an Ivy League institution renowned for its legacy in shoulder care. Training alongside some of the giants in orthopedic surgery, I developed a passion for advanced shoulder care while learning that meticulous attention to detail, discipline, and a relentless pursuit of knowledge are what separate a good outcome from an exceptional one.
Next I completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles. There, I helped care for athletes from five professional sports teams, including the Lakers and Dodgers, along with collegiate athletic programs and the PGA TOUR. I worked with some of the nation's leading sports medicine surgeons. My fellowship refined my expertise in arthroscopic surgery and advanced shoulder and knee care—skills that remain the foundation of my practice today.
Since 1997, I have had the privilege of serving patients throughout the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Whether someone needs education, rehabilitation, arthroscopic surgery, or joint replacement, I believe treatment should always be individualized. Every patient has different goals, different expectations, and a different story, and my job is to tailor treatment to those needs.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy travel, spending time with my family, and the pursuit of fitness. One philosophy that guides my fitness regimen is preparing to 'win the decathlon at age 90'—a lifelong commitment to longevity, health, strength, and endurance.
I believe the principles that define excellent patient care are preparation, consistency, continuous improvement, and never losing sight of the individual behind the diagnosis. A cornerstone of my practice is to provide comprehensive, personalized shoulder and knee care built on trust, education, compassion, and an unwavering pursuit of excellence. I hope every patient leaves knowing that I truly listened, that they were understood, and that they were cared for as an individual. I will remain steadfast in my never-ending pursuit of excellence for every patient who entrusts me with their care.
