Dr. Black's practice is focused on shoulder and knee care, ranging from injuries and overuse problems to degenerative conditions. Treatment may be conservative or surgical depending on the diagnosis and the individual patient.

Common shoulder problems include impingement, rotator cuff tears, irreparable rotator cuff tears, arthritis, frozen shoulder, instability, AC joint problems, biceps tendon problems, and labral tears. I also frequently provide second opinions.

Common knee problems include meniscus tears, arthritis, ligament injuries, loose bodies, and patellar instability. I also frequently provide second opinions.

Do you only see athletes?

No. I am fellowship-trained in Sports Medicine, with expertise in treating athletes and the problems specific to them. However, the same principles apply to people who simply want to work, exercise, and maintain an active, healthy lifestyle. In fact, the vast majority of my patients are not competitive athletes.
